God has reserved this time for me. The secret of victory is hard work,” said Barros. He kept up with all the determination hunched over a trash can, sunglasses, smoking incessantly and nailbiting. Just celebrated with the reading of the note that gave the championship to the school.

In the final tally, the Unidos da Tijuca not only ended with footnote 10 in the question battery - which had two 9.9 (by regulation, the lowest and highest note of each question were discarded).Besides the success of the committee front, the school thrilled with elaborate floats. In one, superhero, there was even a ramp that skied Batmans and the Spider-Men climbing.

“He deserved and we also deserve the 2nd place,” said the president of Great River, Hélio de Oliveira. But the criticisms have not disappeared. “We must value what is ours, our culture. The work of Paulo Barros was beautiful, but I’m still very attached to that is samba,” said the chairman of the Carnival of Mangueira, Nilcemar Nogueira.
