The best cities for tourism in the Pantanal Mato Grosso (Brazil - eco tourism)

Cuiabá: the borders of the Cuiabá River, the city is the capital of the State of Mato Grosso. Founded in 1719 by bandeirantes that there looking for gold, is one of the hottest cities in Brazil. Being near the border with Bolivia, its people demonstrate the influence of Spanish through the local accent. The main attraction of the city is the Church N. S. Order of Good  of 1720.

Pocone : Famous for the great gold mining there until the eighties, is the portal Pocone northern Pantanal. Here begins the “Transpantaneira”, a dirt road with more than 120 bridges of wood that moves ca. Pantanal of 150 km inland and offers a spectacular view of the region.

Cáceres: Founded in 1778 with the name of Mary of Paraguay, Cáceres is a beautiful and welcoming city by the river Paraguay. Every year in September the city hosts the largest festival of fishing in the country.

Aquidauana: On the banks of the river of the same name and very close to the Pantanal, Aquidauana presents a rich biodiversity even within the city. Interesting attraction is the Museum of Arts Pantaneira, which tells the history and local culture.

Corumbá: Located on the border with Bolivia, this city is high on the banks of the Paraguay River, with a spectacular panoramic view of the flooded plain. It was founded in 1778 and for centuries was used as a last bastion of the vast national territory. To the south are the largest reserves of manganese in the world, for which the land have red wine. The old road that linked Corumba to Campo Grande was transformed into a road-park, with controlled access and is a unique opportunity to enjoy the local beauty.
